Simple, plain and yet exceptional in taste. This is exactly how a Caesar salad could be characterized. And that's why the whole world loves it.

Based on its name, most people assume that it originated in Italy, but this is not the case. Caesar salad surprisingly comes from America. Here it was prepared for the first time by chef Cardini Caesar, originally from Italy, who combined the best tastes of American and Italian cuisine in this meal. So the inspiration of Italy is not completely accidental after all.

The basic ingredients are romaine lettuce, croutons and parmesan. The real Caesar salad dressing, which creates its typical taste, cannot be made without fresh egg yolks, anchovies, quality olive oil, Worcestershire, Dijon mustard, garlic and lemon.

Today it is almost impossible to find the original form of the recipe. Over the years, therefore, many variations have appeared, and even famous chefs often argue about which one is the only and true one. Most often, you can get the variant that contains grilled chicken or bacon.
