Butter, cream cheese, yogurt or cottage cheese, onions and mustard are usually added to the fish meat when preparing the spread. More hearty versions of this spread also contain eggs and mayonnaise. The individual ingredients can be mixed together or possibly whipped into a smooth foam. The spread is perfect to be served with fresh bread.
