Real Turkish pita bread, which you have ready in a few minutes

Easy to prepare and yet very tasty. You only need a few ingredients to prepare this original Turkish flatbreads, which will puff up during baking so that you can fill them with ingredients according to your own taste. In our house, chicken meat and vegetables of various kinds lead the way. Of course, grated Parmesan and ordinary ketchup or sour cream as a topping must not be missing.

Ingredients

Dough:

1 cup
milk
½ cup
water
4 oz
white yogurt
¾ tsp
instant dry yeast
1 spoonful
granulated sugar
1 tsp
salt
2 tbsp
oil
5 cups
flour
Preparation steps

  1. Put all the ingredients in a bowl and knead a smooth, non-sticky dough. I do not prepare any yeast in advance. I add the instant dry yeast to the other ingredients. Let the dough rise for about 40 minutes.
  2. Take smaller pieces of the dough (depending on how big you want the flatbread to be), which you roll out to a thickness of about 1/3 in'.
  3. Place them on a baking sheet lined with baking paper.
  4. Bake in a preheated oven at a temperature of 390 °F / 200 °C for about 10 minutes - keep an eye on them.
  5. Fill with ingredients according to your own taste. You can also use the dressing that you like best.
