The classic butter cake base with vanilla is the basis of a number of pastries. If you stick to the amount of ingredients and the exact procedure, you will enjoy a fluffy and delicate cake, which is given a pleasant sweetness by fresh strawberries.

  1. Start the process by preparing your cake base. Beat the butter with the sugar in a bowl. Use a mixer to speed things up. Once you have whipped a light and smooth cream, gradually add eggs (one at a time), sour cream and then flour mixed with baking powder.

  8. Divide the mascarpone cream in half. Spread one half over the first cake base and then place the strawberries evenly on it. Once you're done, carefully place the second cake base on top of this layer and repeat the whole process with the mascarpone and strawberries once again.
  9. You can also decorate the cake with sprigs of mint or edible flowers.
