Farm collar steak in onion and beer

I used ranch steak seasoning, but if you can't find it, that's okay. Spices include dried minced garlic, salt, crushed black pepper, dried parsley sprigs and ground sage. But you can usually buy what I used in the supermarket.

Ingredients
2x 8 oz
slices of steak with bone
1 tbsp
ranch steak seasoning
2 tbsp
oil
2 pcs
onion
¾ cup
beer
¼ cup
broth or water
1 tbsp
lard

  1. Drizzle slices of (collar) steak with oil and sprinkle with spices. Leave in the fridge for 24 hours. Leave it at room temperature for an hour before preparing it. Then, in a frying pan with a little bit of hot oil, fry briskly on both sides (for 3 minutes each).
  2. Add lard to the baking dish and cover the bottom with one onion cut into half rings. Add the meat and sprinkle the second onion, also cut into half rings, over the meat. Pour in beer and cover with a lid or aluminum foil.
  3. Place in the oven and bake for an hour at 430 °F / 220°C.
  4. Then take the lid or aluminum foil away, pour water over it and bake until the wanted color is reached. Let the fat (juice) reduce in volume. Onions will soften the bitterness of the beer. You can serve, for example, with mashed potatoes.
