"Water cake" or Solomon's slices - juicy cake with coffee
Water cake is a black cocoa, extra juicy cake with coffee. Water cake is also called "Solomon" or "Solomon's slices" and its preparation is quite simple.
Melt the butter, granulated sugar, water and cocoa in a saucepan - do not boil! Pour off approx. 3/4 cup and set aside.
Add 4 whole eggs to the remaining mixture, add flour (I used a gluten-free mixture) mixed with baking powder.
Pour the mixture with the eggs and flour onto a greased and floured small baking sheet and bake at 355 °F / 180 °C for about 20 minutes - keep an eye on it.
While it is still hot, pour 3/4 cup of the glaze you have set aside and sprinkle the top with ground nuts or coconut.
