Baked collar steak served with potatoes and whipped cream

A fantastic lunch that will leave you licking your lips for another 4 hours. Roasted meat, in our house it is a classic collar steak, you can also use pork loin or ribs, or, if you are a fan of chicken, chicken legs or even breasts, and crispy potatoes sprinkled with ground red pepper and curry spices. All this is baked together in one baking dish covered with whipping cream. The crispy crust on the potatoes is delicious.

  1. Season the raw meat, add crushed garlic, salt and oil and press everything thoroughly into the meat. Leave overnight in the refrigerator in a sealable container.
  2. Cut the peeled potatoes into thin slices and wipe them with a paper towel. Transfer to a bowl, add spices and salt and mix well.
  3. Put oil in the pan and fry the meat briskly so that it becomes brown. Take the meat out of the pan and add finely chopped onion, sugar and let it caramelize slightly in the same pan. Put the caramelized onion on the bottom of the baking dish, put the meat on it and then slices of two potatoes on each slice of steak.
  4. Cover everything with whipping cream, cover it and put in the oven heated to 390 °F / 200 °C for about 40 minutes. Then turn it over and finish baking for another 20 minutes.
