Chocolate pound cake with walnuts - photo recipe

Amazing chocolate pound cake with pieces of walnuts, topped with chocolate glaze. Do you like pound cakes? There are about a million recipes for pound cakes, I personally have already tried coconut, walnut, and Lady fingers, I have even made punch and liqueur ones. The best so far is this one, really full of chocolate, with pieces of walnuts. Even the chocolate glaze goes perfectly with the real chocolate taste of the dough. In the original recipe, there was only half the amount of baking powder, I used 2 & 1/2 teaspoons so that the thick chocolate dough would rise during baking.

  1. Melt the butter in a small saucepan. When the butter is melted, remove it from the heat and add the dark chocolate, broken into pieces. Dissolve it by stirring.
  2. Separate the egg whites and yolks. Beat the egg whites until foamy. Gradually add granulated sugar. Beat the egg yolks with powdered sugar until foamy, add vanilla sugar, grated lemon zest and prepared chocolate. Then mix in the flour mixed with baking powder, a pinch of salt, cocoa and ground nuts. Mix thoroughly and finally add the beaten egg whites and whole walnuts with a wooden spoon.
  3. Pour the mass prepared in this way into a pound cake mold, which you have previously greased with fat and sprinkled with flour.
  4. Bake at a temperature of 340 °F / 170 °C for about 50-55 minutes.
  5. Let the baked pound cake cool a little in the mold and then take it out.
  6. Melt the dark chocolate together with the butter and pour over the entire surface. Let it harden and serve. Enjoy!
