This year for Christmas I tried to bake a Christmas stollen and I have to tell you that it turned out perfectly. Instead of the Christmas Finnish pulla I've been making so far, I will be preparing this one from now on. :) Adding butter to the dough means that the stollen smells like butter. After baking, I immediately wash it with oil to make it nice and shiny and crispy and sprinkle with sugar. With butter and honey, it's a great choice for breakfast. I'm already drooling :)

Christmas stollen

This year for Christmas I tried to bake a Christmas stollen and I have to tell you that it turned out perfectly. Instead of the Christmas Finnish pulla I've been making so far, I will be preparing this one from now on. :) Adding butter to the dough means that the stollen smells like butter. 1. Put semi-coarse flour, sugar, eggs, salt, yeast and melted margarine, chopped nuts, raisins, candied fruit to taste in a bowl and pour warm milk and process the dough and leave to rise in a warm place.
  2. Turn the bowl upside down and place the dough in the shape of a bun onto a baking sheet, wash with oil and bake at 300 °F / 150 °C.
  3. If you poke into the stollen with a skewer and the dough does not stick, it is baked.
  4. Take the stollen out of the oven and while it is still warm, wash it with oil and sprinkle with powdered sugar.
  5. Let it cool. Enjoy :)
