Donuts baked in the oven

A slightly healthier version of super sweet treat. Homemade donuts baked in the oven. Yummy! I know some people don't call them donuts anymore, they're more like buns, but I still call them donuts. Sometimes I fry them and sometimes I put them in the oven and I don't care :) I bake them all at once, they are not greasy and for example I like them better than the real fried ones :)

  1. Pour 1/2 cup of warm milk into a glass, add 2 teaspoons of granulated sugar, instant dry yeast and let the yeast rise.
  2. Put the other ingredients in a bowl and add the risen yeast. Prepare a smooth dough, which you leave to rise in a warm place for about 1 hour. After an hour, process again and let it rise for a second time in a warm place.
  3. On a floured rolling pin, roll out the risen dough into a sheet approx. 0.75 in' thick and cut out circles using a glass or mold. Place them on a baking sheet lined with baking paper. Use a wooden spoon to make a hole in the center of each circle and cover them with a kitchen towel. Leave to rise in a warm place (approx. 20-25 minutes).
  4. Bake in a preheated oven at a temperature of 375 °F / 190 °C until golden.
  5. Layer the marmalade or jam in the center of each donut and sprinkle the top with icing sugar. Enjoy!
