I got this recipe from my grandmother, it is soft and fluffy. I make it every year for Christmas, so I think about my grandmother in the most beautiful time of the year. I love Christmas, the smell of baking all the goodies, the atmosphere and peace of mind.

Grandma's Finnish pulla

I got this recipe from my grandmother, it is soft and fluffy. I make it every year for Christmas, so I think about my grandmother in the most beautiful time of the year. I love Christmas, the smell of baking all the goodies, the atmosphere and peace of mind.

  1. Put plain flour, sugar, salt, eggs and yeast in a bowl. Mix the melted butter with milk and pour it over the ingredients in the bowl, let the yeast dissolve a little, add raisins and make a dough that is let to rise in a warm place.
  2. Divide the dough into 2 larger parts and 1 smaller one. Cut the larger parts into another 3 equal parts, roll them into rolls and braid them together. Transfer the braid onto a greased baking sheet and make another braid, placing it on top of the first one.
  3. Cut the smaller part into 2 parts, roll out 2 rolls and just roll them up together and place them on top of the already braided parts. Wash with oil and bake at 300 °F / 150 °C until golden. Even though mine cracked, it did not change the taste :-) Enjoy!
