I tried a new pound cake recipe. I wanted to try something new, so I searched the Internet for some sweet treat but refreshing pleasure at the same time. I found a lemon vanilla pound cake that was a huge hit at a family celebration.

Ingredients
2 cups
flour
1 ¼ tsp
baking powder
½ tsp
salt
7 oz
butter
2 cups
powdered sugar
1 pc
lemon zest
6 pcs
egg
1 tsp
vanilla essence
½ cup
milk
½ cup
lemon juice

Glaze:

1 cup
powdered sugar
1 pc
lemon juice
Preparation steps

  1. Mix butter and powdered sugar until foamy. Gradually add the lemon zest and one egg at a time. After each added egg, thoroughly beat the mixture.
  2. Add milk, vanilla essence and lemon juice.
  3. At the end, add a loose mixture - flour mixed with salt and baking powder.
  4. You will get a thicker dough, which you will layer into a pound cake mold, which you have greased with butter and sprinkled with flour.
  5. Bake in a preheated oven at a temperature of 340 °F / 170 °C for about 40 minutes - keep an eye on it.
  6. After baking, let the pound cake cool in the mold.
  7. Turn the pound cake upside down and cover with the glaze - mix powdered sugar with lemon juice. The thicker the frosting, the better it will stick to the pound cake.
