Preparation steps

Beat the egg whites until foamy, gradually beat in the sugar. When you get stiff, shiny mixture, turn off the mixer and just mix in the ground walnuts with a wooden spoon.
Take small piles from the mass with a spoon, put them in ground walnuts and coat the pile with your hands.
Shape the coated pile into a half-moon, place on a paper-lined baking sheet and leave to dry in the oven.
Dry at a temperature of 210 °F / 100 °C for about 1 hour.
