Ingredients

Dough:

2 ½ cups
flour
1 tsp
sugar
1 tsp
salt
1 tsp
yeast
½ tsp
baking powder
½ cup
milk
½ cup
warm water
2 tbsp
olive oil
2 cloves
garlic
for wash
egg
flax seeds

olives - green and black
Preparation steps

  1. Heat the milk, add a teaspoon of sugar and yeast. Let the yeast rise.
  2. Put flour in a bowl, add salt, baking powder, olive oil, pressed garlic and yeast. Mix, add 1/2 cup of warm water and make a thinner dough, sprinkle with flour and leave to rise in a warm place for 1 hour.
  3. Then take smaller pieces from the dough, which you sprinkle well with flour and work it into a stiffer dough with your hands. Then you process it into a thinner roll. Wrap the dough around a skewer, on which you have alternately pressed green and black olives, and wrap the dough all the way to the top.
  4. Place the skewers on a baking sheet lined with baking paper and bake in a preheated oven at 390 °F / 200 °C until golden. Before baking, don't forget to wash the top of the dough with beaten egg yolk, and you can also sprinkle with seeds or coarse salt. You can also use sun-dried tomatoes instead of olives.
