Prepare yeast from 2 teaspoons of sugar, milk and dry yeast.
Mix flour, a pinch of salt, sugar, egg yolks, milk, oil and yeast in a bowl. Let the dough rise for about 1 hour - so that it doubles in volume.
When the dough is rising, make a pudding. After cooling, beat with butter. For now, let's put the cream in the fridge.
Make rolls with a diameter of about 1/3 inch and a length of about 8 inches, which you will fold in half, this will create two strands, which you will braid and then tuck its end. (Try to roll out "snakes" from the dough about the thickness of a finger and cut them into 8 inches long pieces. Fold the "snake" in half and twist it.)
Leave to rise on a baking sheet, wash with beaten egg and bake at 390 °F / 200 °C for about 15 minutes (until golden).
When they cool down, cut them, fill them and sprinkle them with powdered sugar. About 18 pieces of 4 inches long will come out of the batch.
