One of the best traditional recipes for a sweet lunch. Plum dumplings with poppy seeds, sugar and melted butter. I also really like the version with apricots and cottage cheese, sugar and butter on top.

2 lbs
potato
2 ½ cups
flour
1 pc
egg
½ tsp
salt
as needed
plums
to taste
butter
to taste
poppy seeds
to taste
powdered sugar

  1. Boil the potatoes in their skin, let them cool, peel and grate them.
  2. Mix them with salt, egg and 2 & 1/2 cups of flour. Don't add too much so that the dumplings are not too hard.
  3. Make the dough from which you will make a roll.
  4. Cut out small pieces and wrap plums (apricots) in it. The given amount will be enough for 18-20 dumplings, depending on the size of the fruit.
  5. Put the dumplings in boiling water and when they float to the surface, boil them for another 2-3 minutes.
  6. Serve plum dumplings with melted butter, poppy seeds and powdered sugar. Serve apricot dumplings with cottage cheese, sugar and butter.
