Homemade orange juice - 4 oranges = 2 gallons of juice

Homemade orange juice, made from only 4 oranges. Perfectly refreshing in hot weather.

4 tbsp
citric acid

  1. Wash 4 oranges thoroughly and place them in a bowl. Pour boiling water over them to get rid of the bitterness. Let them "swim" in boiling water for a while and then take them out and wipe them dry with a towel.
  2. Put the dried oranges in the freezer for at least 2 hours, but preferably overnight.
  3. Take the oranges out of the freezer and grind them in the grinder you use for grinding meat. Pour 1 gallon of cold boiled water (or filtered water) over the ground oranges and let it stand for 10 minutes.
  4. After 10 minutes, strain the water with the orange through a fine sieve - you will get rid of large pieces.
  5. Add 1.5 gallons of water, 2 lbs of sugar and 4 tablespoons of citric acid to the strained orange juice. Mix everything together and pour it into a large container, where you let the orange juice stand for about 1 hour and then you can serve it.
