Maxi "pinwheel" made on a baking sheet which always tastes great

A unique and tried-and-tested dessert with which you can treat even the most demanding guests. It is very popular in our house, either in this form (baked whole on a baking sheet) or as separate bites, classic pinwheels. I make the glaze at home - I prepare caramel in the classic way, no store-bought powdered imitations.

  1. Dissolve the butter in water. When the butter is melted, add flour, a pinch of salt and mix. A thick mash will form, which you will stir in the pot for about 5 minutes. Set aside and let cool slightly. After it has cooled slightly, beat in one egg at a time with a mixer and beat thoroughly after each one.
  2. Divide the dough into 2 parts and spread them on baking sheets lined with baking paper.
  3. Bake in a preheated oven at 390 °F / 200 °C for about half an hour. Do not open the oven during baking.
  4. Cream:
Turn the granulated sugar into caramel. When the caramel is ready, pour 3 cups of milk over it and let the caramel dissolve without stirring. Mix the vanilla puddings in the remaining milk and add it to the caramel milk. Cook a thick pudding, which you set aside and let cool. Beat the butter until foamy, gradually add the cooled pudding.
  5. Spread the cream on the baked dough, spread the whipped cream with stabilizer on the cream. Place the second dough on top of it and set aside in the cold to harden.
  6. Then put the glaze on top - turn the granulated sugar into caramel and cover it with milk. Let the caramel dissolve without stirring and then add the powdered sugar. Spread the glaze on top while it is still warm because it hardens when cold.
